The Netherlands Bach Society performs 'Bereitet die Wege, bereitet die Bahn' for All of Bach. A better salary and more musical elbow room – these were the ambitions of the young Bach after barely a year as the organist at Blasiuskirche, in Mühlhausen. This dream came true after seven years later in 1714, when he was appointed Konzertmeister at the court of Weimar. Here he got the chance to work with professional musicians. This piece is from the beginning of his Weimar period.
